Foundation According to Skin-Tone:
Rounding upon a perfect shade of foundation can be cumbersome as well as tricky. Hence, it is preferable to try your shade in full day light, while not solely depending upon the lighting of the store.

Always test the foundation on the skin between your thumb and index finger for a perfect matching shade. Or if you want to get double sure, try applying it on your cheeks and see if it’s matching with your skin-tone.

Nowadays reputed cosmetic brands provide a facility of makeup-trials for the clients too; under which they implement full makeup on you, to check its suitability. You can certainly opt for such brands for choosing a correct shade of foundation for yourself.

Keep the weather in mind too while choosing your foundation. A tinted moisturizer is a good option for winters while mousses or soufflé are considered best for summer season.

Foundation According to Skin-Type:
Normal Skin: You are lucky to have such skin-type as your foundation choice may range from tinted moisturizer to mineralized bases. Just choose yours depending upon the coverage you desire and the occasion you’re going to; and be good to go.

Oily Skin: As your skin already secretes enough oil, try avoiding oil-based foundations to keep cakey-ness at bay. Instead, you can go for oil-free or matte formulations for a flawless shine. Also, one must remember to set the base afterwards, with a matching compact powder if they have oily skin-texture.

Dry Skin: Dry skin needs extra moisture; therefore it is always advisable to go for rich moisturizing bases/foundations that cover the flaws of the face while adding the much-needed moisture too. A tinted moisturizer is best if you want light coverage or go for oil-based creamy foundations to provide full-coverage for your dry skin.
